New inductees to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame were announced today. I finally fucking made it.

According to Reuters, the 2006 class of inductees includes the Sex Pistols, Black Sabbath, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Blondie, and Miles Davis. A little something for everyone.
The HOF committee is still an elitist bunch of wankers though.
Musicians become eligible for consideration 25 years after their first recording. A shortlist of nominees is sent to an international body of about 700 "rock experts," according to organisers, and they vote for a handful of contenders.British heavy metal pioneers Black Sabbath and Lynyrd Skynyrd were each rejected on seven previous occasions, and the Sex Pistols four times, a Hall of Fame spokeswoman said. By contrast, Irish band U2 made the cut last year on its first attempt.
