The Problem with LGF: Everyone Knows the Memos Came from Rove

The biggest and proudest accomplishment over at the Little Green Footballs blog is the fact that they were the ones who blew the lid off and exposed the fact that the CBS TANG memos were forgeries.
LGF has a special link to the post where it all happened on the front page of the blog.
For days ... weeks ... months ... the LGF folks basked in the glory of having gotten Dan Rather and Mary Mapes canned.
Few people adore and admire Charles Johnson of LGF as little as I do.
My appreciation for the guy's writing knows very specific limits ...
My love for him personally is totally conditional on him maintaining a level of respect for people who are different from him, either by culture or ethnic background ... and he never lives up to these conditions.
So, it's with great pains that I must express the current problem that LGF has:
Just about everyone out there believes that the forged CBS TANG memos came from Rove.
It's been a while.
The dust has settled.
Mary Mapes was fired.
Dan Rather quit.
LGF emerged victorious!
The only problem is ...
Everybody believes that the CBS TANG memos came from Karl Rove. They believe that he had them typed up. They believe that he had them planted. They believe that they know who planted them (Stone) and they believe that they know who was intended to break the story that they were forged (Powerline).
Certainty rules the day on these points and howevermuch LGF wants to believe that the big story of the memos is that they were forgeries ... The real story is that they were forgeries planted by Karl Rove.
LGF was never intended to break the story before Powerline did. But they did. Mr. Johnson, apparently acting independently, got the story out about the memo forgeries before he received the "gotcha" e-mails that were sent from operators in George Bush's political network. These "gotcha" e-mails were to inform bloggers that the CBS TANG memos weren't real.
LGF scooped the scoopers.
The problem is:
The forgeries came from Karl Rove.
If, indeed, the folks at LGF want to expose media bias, I suggest that they do a little bit of investigative reporting regarding exactly where the memos came from.
I suggest that they report how it is that LGF received notice from operatives in George Bush's network shortly after the CBS broadcast that the memos were fake.
I suggest that they report on how and why Mike Krempasky, graduate of the same journalism "institute" as Jeff Gannon, registered Rathergate.com in such a short term period after the memos came to light.
I suggest they report on how Jeff Gannon bragged on Free Republic that he delivered the scoop about the forged memos to Sean Hannity shortly after the broadcast. How did Gannon know they were forgeries?
LGF, so proud of their role in the unseating of Dan Rather. The problem is, they were just unwitting fools doing Karl Rove's dirty work for him ... and they didn't even get paid.
